Since 1973, the Indiana Architectural Foundation has served as a non-profit organization supporting architectural education, public awareness of architecture, and preservation of our architectural heritage.

We exist as an organization because of the continued financial support of our friends. The foundation relies upon the many individual and corporate contribuitions we receive over the course of the year to aid in our efforts and promote our mission.

The foundation is funded entirely by donations. The board members and officers of the foundation serve without pay. We maintain two donation funds. Our general fund pays for operating expenses, and grants. The general fund is ongoing, and donations of any amount are gratefully accepted. A separate fund is maintained for scholarships. All scholarship money is distributed on an annual basis.

In the last fifteen years, the IAF has awarded 158 scholarships. In 2003, 15 scholarships were awarded. We also maintain endowment funds which are used for grant and scholarship awards.

Initial fundraising efforts by the IAF board in memory of Walter S. Blackburn, FAIA, created the founding funding source for a special scholarship focused on the assistance of talented minority students in the pursuit of college level education in the field of the arts and architecture.

Donations may be made to our General Fund, Scholarship Fund, or to an endowed fund.
Scholarship fund donations of any amount are accepted. These donations are pooled, and awarded as the "Indiana Architectural Foundation Scholarship".

Named scholarships are also given in recognition of our larger donors. A donation of $1,000 is required for a named scholarship award. The donation may be made in two annual installments of $500. The award is given after the second $500 donation is received.

Many thanks to our previous year Scholarship Sponsors.
Without the generous support of our sponsors, the scholarship program would not be possible.
